Weidman, Rousey Defend Title - UFC 168

Chris Weidman successfully defended his title against Anderson Silva last night at UFC 168.  Weidman dominated most of the first round on the ground against Silva.  Then, in the second round the crowd was left shocked when a Silva leg kick was checked by Weidman and left Silva's leg broken.  The fight was stopped immediately and the video of the break is graphic.  Silva was left with a broken left tibia and has already had successful surgery on the break.  The UFC estimates that the surgery could take as long as 6 months to recover.

Rhonda Rousey took home Fight of the Night awards for a third round armbar victory over Meisha Tate.  Tate fought tough and was the first opponent to survive the first round against Rousey, but in the end it was not enough.  Rousey relentlessly attacked and then finally secured the submission for the victory and also earned the Submission of the Night bonus.
