BJJ Gis - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Kimonos - Rolljunkie

BJJ Gis are your uniform for going to battle on the mat. Also known as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu kimono, you need your gi to be durable enough to stand up to the constant grabbing, pulling, and twisting that is commonplace when training jiu jitsu with the gi. In addition, your kimono should fit comfortably, loose enough that you can move with ease, yet not so loose that you feel like you're swimming in fabric. A BJJ gi consists of two pieces, a top piece or jacket, and a bottom piece, the pants. The two-piece uniform is then secured with a BJJ belt indicating your rank. Note that belts are not included as part of the kimonos we offer for sale. These are typically purchased separately or awarded by your academy or instructor. Sizing Your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Kimono

Every body type is different, however, when it comes to choosing the best BJJ Gi size for your build, we recommend using the chart on every product page as a guideline. Kimonos should not feel excessively loose or tight and there should be enough fabric around the wrist and ankle openings that an opponent can get a decent grip. That said, you should not feel like you are drowning in fabric when you wear your kimono either.

If you are competing with the gi, it is important that you check with the competition organization to ensure your uniform is compliant with the requirements for that event.

We design most of our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu kimonos to meet IBJJF regulations, however, we still highly recommend that you check their guidelines prior to competing to ensure your specific BJJ Gi is in compliance as IBJJF uniform guidelines are subject to change.

Rolljunkie kimonos include the jacket, pants, and kimono bag. A BJJ belt is not included.
